THERE HE WAS, SETTLED IN, WAITING FOR A PARTNER AND SMILING BACK, THRU THE WIRE CLOTH
WINDOW, I PROVIDED FOR TEMPORARY CREATURE COMFORT
ANYONE ELSE WITH NEW ARRIVALS TO SHARE? (ANY EHS VISITING)
YELLOW BEAK
Re: YELLOW BEAK
House sparrows are a never ending battle and the yellow beaks can be difficult if you don't have SREHs.
Nest checks, supplement feeding and good landlord practices make for a healthy colony.
Re: YELLOW BEAK
HAVE SEEN NO HS IN THE PAST FEW YEARS, NO GRAIN ON SITE PROBABLY HELPS!
THE "ELEVATOR TRAP" HAS ELLIMINATED FOUR YELLOW BEAKS SO FAR, BUT
HAVE SEEN A FEW MORE CHECKING THE SRE ENTRYS ON THE PUMA HOUSING, ON
THEIR WAY THRU.
WHAT CONTROLL METHODS, IF ANY, ARE REST OF YOU APPLYING

Re: YELLOW BEAK
I have SREH for all my housing entrances and have virtually stopped any starling problems. I also use a pellet gun and a repeating ground trap for hops and yellow beaks.
Nest checks, supplement feeding and good landlord practices make for a healthy colony.
Re: YELLOW BEAK
As for-mentioned have seen a number of starlings pass thru, just stopping long enough
to check the SREH on the housing, but later arrivals have not visited the "one way"
elevator trap. How many of you PM people are using or even aware of how effective
the elevator style trap is for capturing starlings

Re: YELLOW BEAK
I also use the starling elevator trap. They are great for catching large numbers of starlings.
