Nest building

Post by Caroline »

I've been setting out plants out in front garden this morning. I'm not making much headway since it seems to take me longer and longer to get down on the ground - and then get back up. I'm sure I amuse the neighbors.

I walked under the martins' pole and felt eyes staring at me. A large ASY male was sitting on his porch with his mouth stuffed to overflowing with several pieces of dried stalks. I wish I could have gotten a photo; he looked silly.

He looked at me, turned around, and stuffed them in the gourd. When he came back out he shook out his feathers, gave me a 'what are you looking at' glare, and continued to preen.

Kudos,
Sounds like "Production in Motion" your way :!:

Mr. Perry

Congrats.
That's exiting and a surprise at the same time?
Read you are in "Martin Free" area, been watching for your Scout Report.

On a side note; Raised a Trio Castle style house (upgraded, perch tower, P. guard) at a site
near the river, in T.R.F. yesterday. Am hoping for some of the same happenen there :!:
